night scope
this is all the info i have at the moment from the seller..

This is a very POWERFUL night vision scope that either attaches to a gun, as it has mounts, or can be used by hand. It is lightweight and has a webbing handle to hold it steady. Marked 4X68 it is waterproof with adjusters to the top and side. It is battery operated and shows up green. The lens has a cross hair. I’ve watched rabbits and other wildlife at night from great distance and it is very clear. Good condition. This item came from a British soldier that served in Bosnia some years ago and is an excellent piece of kit. Approx 16 inches length. Excellent condition and enormous fun!.

yes I guess it is
exactly what we are talking about
something based on a 1PN58
it is not a bad crappy russian scope but one of the interesting NVD made in Russia
It is originaly a rifle scope, gen2, for the SVD Dragunov sniper rifle

you might find a lot of technical info searching on the web "1PN58"

PN58 ??
I have a PN58 and it does not look like the picture. The reticle is projected from the front where the objective lens attaches to tube housing. The tube housing is too short for the # stage gen I tube stack. This looks like possibly a newer Russian Gen I or Gen II tube with a fixed reticle on the front of the tube and you are adjusting the angle of the tube for widage and elevation. The mount is not for the draganov like the PN58 mounts either.

scope recognition
Hi
Looks to me like a NZP piece or at least made from their parts .. tubes probably a gen2 same as in a Baigish 6 or IPN51 rifle scope, originally ran on 6v they can handle 9v but you run the chance of blowing the rectifier .. so id use a 4xAA nicad pack

Russian Scope
The unit is PON 4x68, made originally in Belarus. It is definitely not the 1PN58. Unfortunately, I‘ve never seen the actual unit, and my Russian specs are not detailed enough. So I can‘t comment what tube was installed inside.
The factory has also made a very nice PON 3x78 units, which had a larger side Gen 1 tubes.
Yours, Arie

PON 4x68 NV weapon sight
This sight is long out of production. Was made by Belomo (www.belomo.by) in Byelorussia. Could not find a detailed spec sheet. Did find an old price list, which shows the unit to have a similar price to the PON 3x78, which was a decent quality Gen 1 tube.
So my assumption it used the same tube: Single stage, Gen 1 tube.
Yours,
Arie

pon.........
received scope and lens is very clear with no dark edges etc,,,,when i turn it off there is no delay in the image...ie it shuts off straight away so it must be gen 2.....do not think its a pon..sent it away to be serviced and hopefully told what it is
